Robert "Bob" Harrop (born Manchester, 25 August 1936, died Margate, 8 November 2007) was an English football (soccer) player.
A former England and GB Youth player he had joined Manchester United from school and following the Munich Disaster in 1958 made 10[1] Football League appearances as a 'Busby Babe'. He was subsequently transferred in 1959 to Tranmere Rovers where he made 41 appearances and was club captain.
In 1961 he joined non-league Margate and in two spells spread over nine seasons made a club record 567 appearances.[2] Before his final one season stint at Margate in 1977 he spent three seasons at Ashford Town and five seasons at Canterbury City as player/manager. Subsequent to his second spell at Margate he played and managed Ramsgate. He continued playing (for Margate Reserves) until his mid forties.
He took up refereeing in the local Thanet league and was still refereeing early in 2007 aged 71. He died later that year.
